Chaser was founded with a determined spirit and a simple mission – to help SMEs worldwide get paid in a quick, efficient and friendly way so that they save time on manual tasks and improve cash flow. It was originally launched in 2014 as a credit control app by a Finance Director who was frustrated with the manual processes and inefficiencies in chasing payments. Today, Chaser is reinventing the way businesses think and behave with regards to payments. Traditionally perceived as negative, the act of invoice chasing, or simply requesting to get paid for your product or services, makes people uncomfortable and causes strain and loss of time for both the business that has not paid and the business that needs to get paid. But it does not need to be that way.
Chaser believes that trust is the foundation of all business relationships. Therefore, their solutions and services aim to make chasing for payments comfortable, easy and fast. They strive to give businesses the confidence that they will get paid for their work, no matter what. Businesses today spend 56.4 million hours per year manually chasing their overdue payments (Intuit QuickBooks, 2019). And in the UK alone, 50,000 small and medium businesses fail each year due to late payments (FSB).

Sonia Dorais, CEO
Sonia Dorais is the CEO of Chaser. She first joined the company in 2020 as Chief Marketing Officer. Previously, Dorais was a chief marketing officer at Capdesk and before that a Chief Marketing Officer at Compleat Software. Earlier in her career she worked with Nakisa as a marketing communications manager. Dorais earned an undergraduate degree in translation and communications from Concordia University.
Pedro Sampaio, Chief Technology Officer
Pedro Sampaio is the Chief Technology Officer of Chaser. He is an analytical and resourceful professional with 10+ years of experience in software engineering. Sampaio possesses solid expertise in team leadership, training/coaching, strategic planning, software project management, client engagement, and high-quality solutions development.
Before joining Chaser, Sampaio was a senior developer at CleverTech and before that a developer at win.com. Earlier in his career he worked with Capgemini as an analyst consultant.
They believe that people caring about people is a critical ingredient to consistently deliver superlative results.
They care about the success of their customers, partners, employees and shareholders, so they aim to truly make a difference. By caring, they are emotionally committed to success and know that everything they do (or don’t do) impacts their growth. They believe in self-care, so they promote good work-life balance. They care about outcomes so they take on tasks with determination, drive and energy. They care about their development, so they constantly look to improve themselves and their service. They do this by cultivating their knowledge, skill, and attitudes to achieve excellence. Some might consider caring soft, unnecessary and perhaps a bit weird to consider as a critical element to shape culture. These people just don’t get it. Mind-blowing performance and competitive uniqueness doesn’t come from a perfect strategic idea; rather it is the result of people working together in harmony towards a shared goal. And that only happens if there is a caring culture at play.
They know that success is achieved by taking risks and making bold decisions, so they encourage individual initiative and growth.

For them, integrity means they do what they say they are going to do and manage expectations through ongoing communications.

They believe that success can beget success, and celebrating at work helps to build momentum, improve morale, and make the hard times feel all the more worth it. They are a fun, quirky bunch who like to party together (even virtually) and celebrate key successes (big and small) along the way. Every week, they play virtual games and we make a point to celebrate festive holidays.
