DuPont is making remarkable strides toward sustainability with its commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The company has outlined its long-term greenhouse gas reduction targets, which align with the Science Based Targets initiative’s (SBTi) Net-Zero Standard and the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C. DuPont is taking an end-to-end approach to its net-zero goal, focusing on emissions reductions across both its operations and supply chain. The company plans to submit its targets for validation by SBTi within the next 24 months, further solidifying its dedication to environmental responsibility.
Since 2019, DuPont has made impressive progress in reducing its carbon footprint, including a 58 percent reduction in Scopes 1 and 2 emissions and a 39 percent reduction in Scope 3 emissions by April 2024. DuPont has also surpassed its target of sourcing 60 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030, and as a member of RE100, it is on track to transition fully to renewable electricity by 2050. These efforts reflect DuPont’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, driving positive change across industries such as electronics, transportation, and healthcare, and demonstrating leadership in the fight against climate change.
