PayPal Holdings has announced the appointment of Enrique Lores as the new Independent Chair of its Board of Directors. Lores, who was the President and CEO of HP, has been a member of PayPal’s Board since June 2021. He succeeds John Donahoe, who has been the Board Chair since 2015. Alex Chriss, President and CEO of PayPal, praised Lores’ deep expertise in consumer and enterprise technology, noting that “his experience in transforming HP into an industry disruptor” will be invaluable in his new role. Chriss also expressed gratitude for Donahoe’s strategic direction and leadership over the past nine years, which have significantly strengthened PayPal’s position as a leader in digital commerce.

Lores expressed his excitement about taking on the role of Board Chair at such a pivotal time for PayPal. "I look forward to continuing to work closely with the Board, Alex, and the entire PayPal leadership team to deliver exceptional results for our customers and stockholders." Donahoe, reflecting on his 16-year association with PayPal, first as CEO of eBay and then as PayPal’s Board Chair, highlighted "Enrique's expertise in corporate transformation and broad understanding of the technology ecosystem makes him an ideal next Chair to work with the rest of the Board.” PayPal, which has been revolutionizing global commerce for over 25 years, continues to support consumers and businesses in approximately 200 markets with innovative and secure financial solutions.
