Envestnet Appoints Chris Todd as Chief Executive Officer

Envestnet has appointed Chris Todd as its new CEO, following the company’s acquisition by Bain Capital in a $4.5 billion deal, which closed in November 2024. Todd succeeds Jim Fox, who had served as interim CEO after the resignation of former leader Bill Crager last year. Todd, who most recently led Ultimate Kronos Group, a privately held software company, brings extensive leadership experience. His appointment marks a new chapter for Envestnet, a company valued at $6.5 trillion, as it continues to serve over 20 million accounts through a network of more than 111,000 financial advisors.

Under this agreement, Envestnet shareholders received $63.15 in cash per share. Todd expressed admiration for Envestnet’s strong team and its role in supporting financial advisors with tools to improve client outcomes. Bain Capital partner Phil Loughlin noted that Todd’s appointment is a significant milestone for the company as it seeks to expand its presence in the wealth industry.
