Before joining Carrick Capital Partners, Mason was vice president at Accel-KKR with a focus on control investments in middle-market enterprise software and technology-enabled service companies. Mason also spent some time at private equity and public equity investment firm TCV, where he focused on growth investments in services and software companies within the enterprise, financial services and education markets. Mason received his Bachelor of Science with honors in economics from the University of Washington and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

FTV Capital managing partner Brad Bernstein commented on the Mason’s hire: “Alex brings a blue chip pedigree and nearly two decades of proven growth equity investment experience and deep sector expertise in enterprise technology and financial services to FTV. His proactive, outbound sourcing DNA combined with his collaborative, team-oriented approach are highly consistent with the characteristics and cultural that have driven FTV’s success since 1998. Alex has demonstrated a keen ability to identify innovative companies and management teams that are generating exceptional growth and building market leading companies. We are thrilled to welcome Alex to the FTV team.”

The announcement of Mason’s hire comes just a couple of months after FTV Capital marked the twentieth anniversary of its founding and first fund. This past year also stood as the firm’s most productive in terms of investment deployment, with more than $450 million in growth capital provided to nine new companies. Other key milestones that FTV Capital has achieved over its 20-year history include a track record of over $2.7 billion raised across its five growth equity funds and $14 billion in enterprise value created as well as a spot at number five on Institutional Investor’s 2018 Fintech Finance 40.
