ING announced the appointment of Debbie Janeczek as its new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), effective January 13, 2025. As ING's new CISO, Janeczek will play a key role in ensuring the bank’s security systems remain secure and continue to uphold customer trust. She will report directly to Daniele Tonella, ING’s global Chief Technology Officer and member of the Management Board of Banking. Janeczek succeeds Henrik van Bruggen, who served as the global CISO on an interim basis.
As the former Chief Security Officer of SWIFT, the messaging system used for cross-border financial transactions, Janeczek brings a wealth of expertise to this position. With a background in leading security strategies for prominent financial services, technology firms, and top government organizations, Janeczek has a proven track record in implementing robust security programs that protect critical infrastructures.
