Klarna Expands Partnership with Stripe to Boost Merchant Growth

Klarna, an AI-driven payments network and shopping assistant, has deepened its partnership with Stripe, a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Companies in 25 countries that use Stripe can now add Klarna as a payment choice for their customers. With this enhanced collaboration Klarna saw twice as many new retailers start accepting Klarna for the first time in Q4 2024 as in the previous quarters. Klarna, known for its buy now, pay later (BNPL) services, helps businesses increase revenue by improving conversion rates and average order values, with Stripe data showing up to a 14 percent revenue boost for merchants adopting BNPL solutions.

The strengthened partnership introduces Stripe’s industry-first A/B testing feature, allowing businesses to compare payment methods, including Klarna, without writing code. Klarna offers flexible payment options including immediate payments, interest-free short-term BNPL, and longer-term financing, catering to diverse consumer needs. David Sykes, Klarna’s Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized, “the more retailers we add, the more consumers we attract and vice versa. The ambition is to make Klarna payments available everywhere, for everything, all the time.” Stripe’s Chief Business Officer, Jeanne DeWitt Grosser, highlighted the ease of offering Klarna through Stripe and its benefits for merchant growth. By combining their strengths, Klarna and Stripe aim to provide consumers with more payment flexibility while supporting businesses with innovative revenue-generating tools.
