Qi Card, a renowned Iraqi fintech, has launched its third-generation app, SuperQi, in collaboration with Ant International. Powered by Alipay+ Wallet Tech solutions, SuperQi combines a digital lifestyle super app with a fully functional digital bank, marking a transformative step toward financial inclusion in Iraq. Since its debut in July 2024, SuperQi has integrated Western digital banking models with Asia’s advanced super app practices, offering a range of services such as scan-to-pay, money transfers, bill payments, and shopping. Available in Arabic, English, and Kurdish, the app aims to serve over 30% of Iraq's population by 2026, addressing the needs of unbanked and underserved communities.
Under the leadership of Chairman Bahaa Abdulhussein, Qi Card has played a pivotal role in boosting financial inclusion in Iraq, increasing the percentage of banked individuals from 5% to nearly 50% in recent years. With over 11 million cardholders and five million app users, Qi plans to reach 15 million app users by 2027 through SuperQi. Abdulhussein emphasized that this collaboration with Ant International extends beyond digital finance, creating a broader digital ecosystem to empower Iraqis with secure and accessible financial solutions. SuperQi is positioned as a key tool in advancing Iraq’s journey toward a cashless, interconnected society.
