Term Life Insurance

Term life insurance features the most straightforward and affordable life insurance option by covering for a set “term” (typically 10 to 30 years). If the holder passes away during the term period, their beneficiaries receive a cash payment.

With multiple term lengths and a wide range of coverage amounts to choose from, customers can select a life insurance policy that works best for them. Every term life insurance policy they offer includes level monthly premiums that never increase over the course of the policy. Product type, benefit amounts, and eligibility may vary by carrier.

Whole Life Insurance

Whole life insurance can last the rest of one’s life with a guaranteed payout for their loved ones.

Age and health issues make it difficult for some to gain access to life insurance. That’s why Ethos offers whole life insurance. It helps loved ones cover expenses such as funeral costs, outstanding debt, and other day-to-day costs.

Peter Colis, Co-Founder, CEO

Peter is passionate about protecting millions of families. Before Co-Founding Ethos, Peter and Co-Founder Lingke started Ovid Corp, an insurance auction platform that was acquired in 2019. He received his MBA from Stanford and enjoys spending time with his family and playing chess.

Lingke Wang, Co-founder, President

As Co-founder and President, Lingke Wang is responsible for software development, company scale and growth. Prior to Ethos, Lingke and Ethos Co-founder Peter Colis started Ovid Corp, an insurance auction platform that was acquired in 2019. Lingke started his career at Morgan Stanley and received his MBA from Stanford University.

Sheila Vashee, Chief Marketing Officer

Sheila Vashee, Chief Marketing Officer, leads and scales the company’s marketing, growth, and brand efforts across B2B and consumer. Prior to Ethos, Sheila was a partner at early stage investing firm Basis Set Ventures and held high-profile marketing and growth roles at Opendoor and Dropbox. She holds an MBA from U.C. Berkeley.

Anan Kashyap, Chief Financial Officer

Anan Kashyap, Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for Ethos’ financial strategy. Prior to Ethos, Anan served as the Chief Financial Officer at Poshmark where he oversaw the company’s growth from a private startup to IPO. His career includes stints at GrubHub, KAYAK, and Deutsche Bank. He holds an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Vipul Sharma, Chief Technology Officer

Vipul Sharma, Chief Technology Officer, leads Ethos’ technology & strategy. Vipul joined Ethos as VP of Engineering in 2019. Prior, Vipul held engineering leadership positions at Indeed and Eventbrite and founded Simppler, an employee referral platform that was later acquired. He earned an MS in computer science from the University of Houston.

Erin Lantz, Chief Revenue Officer

Erin Lantz, Chief Revenue Officer, leads CX efforts and the sales team. Prior to Ethos, Erin built and scaled operations for Zillow Group and Bank of America. Erin sits on the boards for TrueCar, Inc and Shelter Acquisition Corp. and is an advisor to Qualia Labs. She received her MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Troy Thompson, Chief Actuary

Troy Thompson, Chief Actuary, leads product strategy and actuarial product development to help Ethos transform the way insurance is designed and underwritten. Troy previously served as Chief Actuary at Legal & General America. Troy sits on the boards of Banner Life, and William Penn, and is a Fellow in the Society of Actuaries.

Marty Schafer, Chief Distribution Officer

Marty Schafer, Chief Distribution Officer, leads channel distribution and insurance partnerships with third party life insurance distributors and insurance agents. Prior to Ethos, Marty was an SVP at Crump Life Insurance Services, VP at John Hancock, and co-founded Saybrus Partners, a distribution company.
