Visa Introduces Digital Emergency Card Service

Visa has announced the launch of its Digital Emergency Card Replacement service, enhancing the travel experience by promptly delivering digital card replacements via text or email. This new service allows cardholders to authenticate and add the new card to their digital wallet, offering a quick and secure solution to the common issue of losing a card while traveling. Kathleen Pierce-Gilmore, Visa's global Head of Issuing Solutions, highlighted that the service provides instant access to funds for travelers, thus boosting issuer customer satisfaction. Visa also provided tips for travelers to maximize the benefits of digital payments, such as pre-loading Visa cards into digital wallets, activating transaction alerts, reporting lost cards immediately, notifying banks before trips, and opting to pay in local currency.

Visa continues to lead in digital payments, facilitating transactions across more than 200 countries and territories. The introduction of Digital Emergency Card Replacement is part of Visa’s Global Customer Assistance Services, which already supports card issuers with a strong distribution network and rapid card production and delivery capabilities across five continents. Managing over three million multilingual interactions, this service underscores Visa’s commitment to meeting growing consumer demands for seamless and secure digital payments.
